The Borough of Moonachie, located in Moonachie, NJ contracted Metro Energy Solutions to act as its energy consultant.  Metro Energy Solutions’ was asked to evaluate and make recommendations on  (2) existing rooftop air conditioning units at the Borough Hall and Police Department. The Borough of Moonachie’s goal was to replace these units with high energy efficient units and obtain any utility incentives available.

Metro Energy Solutions conducted an initial evaluation of the existing HVAC system.  Based on the initial evaluation, Metro Energy Solutions recommended the removal and replacement of (1) 7.5 ton unit at the Police Department and (1) 4 ton unit at the Borough Hall to a high efficiency gas and electric Luxaire HVAC unit of equal size.  An additional extended gas line was run for the HVAC unit for the Police Department.

The new HVAC units will reduce the heating costs by 20%-30%. Metro Energy Solutions was able to obtain utility incentives for this project in the amount of $750.
